FAQ

At this times, all sessions are held virtually. While I live in New York, I am licensed in New York, New Jersey, Florida, & Texas. I am currently offering Telehealth sessions.

The online therapy process is designed to provide you with the same high-quality, personalized care that you would receive in person, but with the convenience and comfort of accessing it from your own home. Through secure, confidential video sessions on Psychology Today’s Sessions platform, we will connect face-to-face to explore your concerns and work towards your goals. Whether you’re new to therapy or continuing your journey, online therapy offers a seamless, accessible way to prioritize your mental health and well-being.

With flexible scheduling and the convenience of online sessions, you can access high-quality therapy from the comfort of your own home, fitting seamlessly into your busy life.

Prior to our first session, we will schedule a complimentary phone consultation where we can speak more about what you are hoping to gain from therapy. During the consultation, we will discuss your reasons for seeking treatment, and I will describe my approach to treatment. If you decide to move forward, we can schedule an initial intake appointment.

While completing an intake, we will discuss your current symptoms, past treatment experiences, relevant history, and goals for working together. The first few sessions of therapy typically consist of “information gathering” and give us time to assess if we are a good “fit.”

As we progress further into treatment, sessions are scheduled for 45 minutes once a week. Intensive 60 minute sessions are available on a case by case basis.

Your unique needs and goals are at the forefront of our work together. I tailor each session to ensure it aligns with your personal journey and aspirations.

My approach to therapy is unique with each individual to suit your specific needs. As each person presents with different issues and goals for therapy, there is no “one size fits all” approach. There is nothing specific you have to do, just be yourself.

Unfortunately, this is not possible to answer in a general sense. However, the length of time therapy can take to achieve your goals depends on your own motivation, commitment, and insight into your problems.

While medication can treat symptoms, therapy is designed to help understand the roots of the issue, explore unhealthy patterns and learn skills and strategies that can help you reach your goals. Research indicates that medication and therapy together can be helpful in severe cases, but this is something that needs to be discussed on an individual basis.

I am an in-network provider for Aetna in New York, New Jersey, Florida, and Texas.

For any other insurance company, I am considered an out-of-network provider. However, many individuals are eligible for reimbursement for therapy services through out-of-network-benefits. I can provide you with necessary documentation if you wish to submit for insurance reimbursements. Prior to starting treatment, I would recommend contacting your insurance company to verify your out-of-network coverage for mental health services.

By choosing my practice, you’re investing in a therapeutic experience that is empathetic, effective, and uniquely tailored to you. Together, we will work towards overcoming challenges and fostering a healthier, more fulfilling life.
