Dr. Venkataramanan

At Real Talk Psych, I provide authentic therapy for authentic people—grounded guidance for real-world challenges, clear insight, and compassionate care. My work is rooted in the belief that therapy should be practical, relatable, and tailored to your unique experiences. I aim to create a space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported in exploring their thoughts, emotions, and life patterns.

I began my training at the University of Minnesota, earning a Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, in Psychology, and then completed a Master of Arts/Master of Education in Psychological Counseling at Teachers College, Columbia University. After practicing as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I earned my doctorate from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University/Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

I completed my APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan and trained in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings across New York City, including North Central Bronx Hospital, Berkeley College, and Metropolitan Center for Mental Health. Across my career, I’ve worked with individuals, couples, families, and groups of children, teens, and adults with mood and anxiety disorders.

I am licensed as a clinical psychologist in New York, New Jersey, Florida, and Texas, and I bring both expertise and empathy to every therapeutic relationship. I take a collaborative, holistic approach, blending evidence-based techniques with insights tailored to each client’s experiences. My goal is to help you build resilience, navigate life transitions, and strengthen emotional well-being, all while keeping therapy grounded, practical, and real.

Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with family, exploring creative projects, and finding ways to stay curious and balanced in everyday life. I believe that meaningful growth happens when therapy is both honest and relatable, and I strive to make every session a space where clients feel empowered to engage fully in their journey.
